Eighth Standard Public Examination (ESLC)-Private Study

1. Conduct of Examination	Yearly once in the month of December
2. Scheme of Examination	Examination will be conducted for the subjects Tamil, English, Maths, Science and Social Studies. Duration of each examination is 2 1/2 hours.
3. Award of certificate	A pass in ESLC examination requires a minimum of 35% of marks in each one of the five subjects.
4. Age	12 1/2 years as on 1st December
5. Fees	Rs. 135/- in form of Treasury chalan for mofussil candidates and in form of Demand Draft for Chennai City Candidates.
6. Procedure for Admission	Application forms to be filled and submitted at the Regional Officers of this Department after the release of Notification.
7.Enclosures to application	Evidence for Date of Birth (12 ½ years completed on 1^st of Dec Examination fee Challan (or) D..D.
8. Submission of application	To be submitted at the respective Regional Offices as notified.
9. Distribution of Hall Tickets and Time – Table	Hall ticket and time-table will the sent to the candidates one week before the examination by post from regional office.
10. Release of Results	Result will be released after two months.
11. Distribution of Certificates	Mark Certificates will be sent to the residence of the candidates by Registered post from the Regional office.
